Anyone that runs marathons for exercise or fun can have an enjoyable time while there. However, if the event isn’t organized very well, there could end up being a lot of insanity before the fun begins. Usually, the confusion comes during the registration process. There are many people milling around, waiting to sign up, hoping to get their bibs, paying fees, and more. More hosts at these events should consider their custom race registration countertop locations and maybe have a few more of them.
Days Before the Race Kickoff
Many events start days before an event takes place. Not just the setup, but the pre-registration. Fees have to be paid. Bibs have to be given out. On the one hand, it is a great time to get to know other runners who will be there with you. On the other, there is so much going on that it can be frustrating for runners who simply want to get warmed up for the event ahead. If we could cut down on the craziness, maybe more people would be willing to take part in the larger marathons?
How to Stop the Insanity?
Many event hosts strive to find new ways to make the process easier. It is horrible for them to try to muddle through the problems. We say, in our experience, when things get confusing adding more is a good thing. Not more in the way of bibs and such, but more in the organization of it all.
Add more tables so that you can make it more streamlined. A table for people to write their names and get their bib. A table for paying fees. There should be tables lined up with some way to tell others what will happen at that table. A way to show others that it isn’t a refreshment table or anything that can be ignored for that moment. If that is impractical, you can have a large table with large registration countertops. If you cover them with epoxy, they will be smooth as glass. We personally prefer getting ours from Countertop Epoxy Canada. This is a Toronto based, one-stop shop for all epoxy resin needs.
Ready, Set, Run
When we look at places that host massive marathons, like the Boston Marathon, we see loads of people. All these people are milling around. They do not walk around in confusion. We want to see you have the same success. As your marathon kicks in next time, we hope that you will find a way to get everything set up.
We want to see things run smoother than ever before. We are also sure that your runners will want that as well. You can set it up the way that you want, but making it more streamlined will give them more time to relax, more time to enjoy, and more reason to want to return to another event that you are hosting in the future.
